A good project, a compelling story, so many good professionals: these are the strengths of " Night Bus ", the latest film by Davide Marengo, based on the novel by Giampiero Rigosi.
The story tells of the clash between Leila (Giovanna Mezzogiorno), beautiful young forger who lives in petty theft and fraud, and Franz (Valerio Mastandrea), naive and generous bus driver with a passion for poker, which to one step away from a degree in philosophy has given up everything for the safety of the fixed place.
two solitudes, two half-lives that for a pure design of destiny, against their will impose a complex and dangerous game of powerful unscrupulous, secret services and not diverted, and little crime. Perhaps the two boys together we can find the intricate skein and the clue to solve the impasse of his own existence ...
"Night Bus" is a mix of many genres: it goes from comedy, action, noir to up to the pure sentimentality.
Every element is well balanced, and the pace remains constant throughout the film.
A strange cocktail, which combines the laughter to reflection, but the end result is winning. Definitely on the method used by manufacturers and Maura vespina Sandro Silvestri for the making of the film: first novel was chosen and therefore the idea, then the writers have been selected for the film adaptation, reaching ultimately to the recruitment of director, actors and other members of the crew.
Particularly ductile director of Marengo, in perfect harmony with the changing of genres throughout the film, and also proved an excellent choice of soundtrack, headed by Gabriele Coen and Mario Rivera, with a brief foray Daniele Silvestri.
Night Bus is a complete film, which offers viewers a wide range of feelings and a good dose of pure entertainment.
Above the film is proof that Italian cinema is not dead, indeed, it is fine: it just takes a little 'courage, a good story and great professionalism.
